Nestled in Clusone’s historical area, up a narrow cobbled street, not far from the light bustle of ristoranti, gelaterie, bottegai and caffetterie, lies Casa Celeste. Clusone is now listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Our bright and airy apartment sits on the top floor of the Santa Maria Assunta building (originally constructed in 1579 and now newly renovated).

Clusone has been a holiday destination since the 19th century, when the cultural gatherings of the Countess Clara Maffei attracted important ‘celebrities’, including composer Giuseppe Verdi. The Countess Clara Maffei introduced Verdi to another cultural personality of the time: author Alessandro Manzoni. It is said that Verdi was so inspired by Clusone that he set to music his lyrical opera “Attila” right here.

(Sant'Agata. Wednesday 18th of October 1876)
"Dear Clarina, so are you still in your Clusone? And so lucky to have such a lovely and warm season."
G. Verdi
